Lavon "Bonnie" Knight Chrisenbery Cox

May 2, 1937 - September 25, 2024

Lavon "Bonnie" Knight Chrisenbery Cox, daughter of Ira and Leota Knight, was born on May 2, 1937, in Cherryvale, Kansas. She peacefully departed this life on September 25, 2024, surrounded by her family at home in Glenpool, Oklahoma, at the age of 87.

Bonnie was the ninth of ten children, growing up in a loving home where her father served as a minister. She graduated from Independence Bible School in Independence, Kansas, and carried her faith and family values with her throughout life. Bonnie first married Jack Chrisenberry, with whom she had two children, Susan and Jimmy. Later, she married Bill Cox, who had two sons, Billy and Jimmy, and they loved her as their own. Bonnie was preceded in death by Jack, Bill, and Billy.

Bonnie had a passion for crafting, spending countless hours crocheting afghans, embroidering, and sewing kitchen towels. She loved keeping her yard in pristine condition and took pride in tending to her flowers. Always on the lookout for a good deal at garage sales, she found joy in her simple, creative life. Camping at Taylor's Ferry South with her family was one of her favorite pastimes, and she always had her beloved pets by her side, including Lily, her chihuahua, and BJ, the cat.

Known for her amazing cooking, Bonnie's biscuits and gravy, vegetable stew, and famous popcorn balls during the holidays will forever be cherished by her family. She also made unforgettable Rice Krispy treats and desserts that her grandchildren adored. Family reunions were especially important to her, as she loved bringing everyone together.

Bonnie will be remembered as a loving, selfless grandmother who was always ready with a hug and a smile. Her quick wit, playful ornery nature, and stubborn determination were hallmarks of her personality, but her willingness to help others shone even brighter. Her voice and her warmth will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Leota Knight; her husband, Bill Cox; four sisters, Rena Knight, Ruth Brown, Wilma Miller, and Vera Henry; and three brothers, Bill, Carl, and Eugene Knight.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Susan Tallent of Glenpool, OK, and Jimmy Chrisenbery (Karen) of Locust Grove, OK; her stepson, Jimmy Cox (Mindy) of Broken Arrow, OK; her brothers, Harold Knight (Berniece) of Oswego, OK, and Keith Knight (Charla) of Tulsa, OK; her nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Bonnie's love, kindness, and enduring presence in the lives of her family and friends will never be forgotten.
