Laura Dawn Nieves

Laura Dawn (Hughes)Nieves age 35 passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital as a result of an accident at her home. Laura was born November 1, 1976 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Karen Irene (Holland) and John William Hughes. She graduated from Glenpool High School with the Class of 1995 and Tulsa Community College with an associates degree. She had worked as a Tulsa County Sherriff's Deputy for the last six years. Laura was married to Raul Antonio Nieves on May 22, 2009 at Eureka Springs, AR. She was know to many as "Mighty Mouse" and "Little Bit" but to her husband, Raul she was "Mi Poquita". Laura will be remembered for her infectious smile, sense of humor and playing pranks on her friends, family and co workers. She enjoyed playing board games, entertaining friends, and attending her children's activities. Laura was a member of Jenks Church of Christ. Laura was preceded in death by her grandparents George and Monteen Holland. She is survived by her parents: John and Karen Hughes of Glenpool, her grandmother Willa Hughes of Woodward, her husband, Raul Nieves of Glenpool, her daughter Kaylan Hughes of Glenpool, her son Keegan Knouse of Glenpool, her sister Christy Pickens of Colorado, her brother, John T. Hughes of Jenks along with many other family members and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, June 4, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service, Glenpool, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Jenks Church of Christ, Jenks, Oklahoma. Mr. Tracy Ellis and Chaplain Ken Farnham will officiate. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C.
