Larry Vernon Walker

Larry V. Walker age 59 passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010 at his residence in Jenks, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family members.
Larry was born November 27, 1950 in Clarksville, Arkansas to Fred and Mary (Thomas) Walker. He graduated from Jenks High School with the Class of 1971 and from Langston University with a Bachelors degree in Education. Larry married Sandra Jean on March 27, 1971. He worked at Tulsa Public Schools as a teacher assistant and was also very active in youth sports. Larry was the President of Tulsa Prep Minor for fourteen years. He will be remembered as being a €œpeople person€ and he never met a stranger.
Larry was preceded in death his mother: Mary Walker; sisters: Linda Walker and Janet Hyatt.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years: Sandy Walker of Jenks, his sons: Jeremy Walker and his wife Shelli of Tulsa and Jeff Walker of Jenks, OK; his daughter: Melissa Branchcomb and her husband Jimmy of Glenpool, OK; his father Fred Walker of Jenks, OK along with his beloved grandchildren: Katelyn, Lindsey, Kyle, Madisen, and Hunter.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2010, at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday November 29, 2010 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel, the Reverend Troy Hayes will officiate.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ron Engles, Rob Engles, Lance Engles, Jim Hart, Kevin Johnston, Dewey Anglin, and Jimmy Branchcomb.
