Larry Charles Laceby

Larry Charles Laceby passed away April 10, 2021, at the age of 80.

Larry was born May 3, 1940, in St Ignace, Michigan to his parents, Lawrence and Viva (Grondin) Laceby. After graduating from La Salle High School in St. Ignace, Larry moved to Oklahoma and found his calling in law enforcement. He graduated from the Tulsa Police Academy in 1965 and proudly served on the Tulsa Police Department for thirty-one years. He had a passion for his work as a police officer. Larry retired from TPD in 1996 but the police officer in him was restless, so after two years of retirement he went to work for the US Marshall Service in 1998 where he served until 2013, and even then he continued to work part-time for TCC Campus Police until 2019.

Larry spent the last twenty years of his life with his wife, Andrea Kay Laceby. He loved to travel and together they traveled all across the United States and around the world to sixteen different countries. Larry will be remembered for his proud service as a Tulsa Police Officer, his strong work ethic and the unconditional love he had for his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Viva Laceby.

Larry leaves behind many loving memories with his family; wife Andrea Kay Laceby, two sons, Lawrence and Joseph Laceby, one brother Donald (Buck) Laceby, two step-daughters; Shelley Hawkins and Rhonda Hall (Stephen), six grandchildren and eleven great-granchildren as well a host of friends. Larry will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service celebrating Larry's life will be held Saturday, May 8th at 1 p.m. at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Chapel located at 5757 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa.
