Klara Aranka Lach age 79 passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2009. She transitioned peacefully during the night in the comfort of her home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Klara was born in Budapest, Hungary and escaped the Communist takeover of Hungary in January of 1957. After ten months in concentration camps in Yugoslavia, she and her daughter emigrated to the United States and were very proud to become U.S. citizens shortly thereafter. Klara was extremely proud to be an American citizen and prayed for the freedoms we are blessed with to last forever.
Klara was preceded in death by her husband: Tamas Lach, on December 22, 2005 and is survived by her only child: Klara Conway and her husband, Richard of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma: two grandchildren: Lori Conway and Robert Riggs of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Justin Conway and his wife, Adrian, of Dallas, Texas along with her ninety-four year old cousin, Zsuzsa Szakmari, of Budapest, Hungary.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 4001 East 101st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74137. Monsignor Patrick Gaalaas will officiate.
Being a life-long animal lover and former Doggie Hotel owner, Klara requested, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Tulsa Humane Society or the local Breast Cancer Awareness Research facility.
