With hearts full of love and sorrow, we say goodbye to Kimberly Kay Smith, who passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025, just days shy of her 57th birthday. Born on February 5, 1968, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kimberly was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished daughter, a loyal sister, and a dear friend to so many.
Kim leaves behind her husband and best friend, Brian; her daughter, Hailey Harris, whom she adored; and her stepdaughter, Maggie Blaire, who held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her beloved mother Linda as well as her grandmother, Margie; her sister and confidante, Krista (Eric) Gerschutz; her caring aunt and uncle, Tommy and Brenda Gann; her uncle, Danny Davis; and her father-in-law, Michael Smith. She was preceded in death by her father, whom she deeply missed.
A proud Oklahoma native, Kim grew up in Tulsa and attended Owasso and Afton High Schools before earning her bachelor’s degree from Southern Nazarene University. She was smart, always the one with the answers, the advice, and the quick wit to keep conversations lively. She got that from her mother—she loved to talk, and she was always up for a great conversation.
Kim had an adventurous spirit, traveling across the U.S. and making memories wherever she went. New Orleans was her favorite place, a city as full of life as she was. She was a foodie at heart, always eager to try new restaurants, with a particular love for crawfish. She could often be found cheering for her beloved Houston Astros, taking road trips just to watch them play.
She loved the simple joys—fishing on a quiet afternoon, a little time at the casino, and the unconditional love of her faithful dog, Ranger. But perhaps her greatest gift was the kindness she showed to others. She gave her time and energy to volunteering with the Special Olympics, touching the lives of so many. She was caring, generous, and had a heart that never hesitated to give.
Kim’s laughter and love will be deeply missed, but the beautiful memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Kim's life will be held 2:00pm, Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Schaudt's Funeral Service Chapel in Tulsa, 5757 South Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74145. A reception will immediately follow at Smitty's 118 Tavern in Jenks, 118 East Main Street, Jenks, Oklahoma 74037.
