Kevin Grant Scott

October 10, 1962 — May 13, 2012

Kevin Grant Scott finished his earthly journey and went to meet his Savior Jesus Christ on May 13, 2012 at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Kevin was loved by his family and many friends. Kevin was born on October 10, 1962 in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Calvin and Barbara (Starr) Scott. He spent his early years in Blackwell until the family moved to Tulsa. He grew up in the Bixby and Liberty Mounds areas. He graduated from Liberty Mounds High School with the Class of 1980. Kevin accepted Jesus as his Savior at Falls Creek Church Camp in his youth. As he got older he attended First Baptist Church in Bixby. Kevin loved people especially the young and elderly. He was always ready to help anyone in need. He was known for his big smile and a heart to match. He spent many years working with special needs children. He grew his hair long every year so he could donate his hair to Locks of Love Organization. Kevin married Shely Sanders in November 1989 and gained Charise and Ben Sanders as his children. They in turn gave Kevin and Shely five grandchildren that he adored. Kevin's years of employment after attending OSU included Rockwell and his current employer American Airlines for twenty-two years. He loved his work and was close to many of the employees at American Airlines. Kevin was a Cherokee and quick to tell you. Proud of his heritage he shared a lot of attributes with fellow natives. He was an artist with a fine eye for details in anything he engaged in. He loved antiques, old cars and collected many things. He also enjoyed going to gun shows with his grandson Denver. Kevin's world revolved around his children and grandchildren. His grandchildren called him Papa and he was their world. Everything he did he did for them. He and wife Shely took their grandchildren on vacations with them and outings as often as they could. He was always there to help his two children Charise and Ben with anything they needed. He was a great uncle and was close to his nephews and nieces, they all adored their Uncle Kevin. Special thanks to his close buddies Charlie Thomas and Eric Hanson and all the other friends and family who helped care for Kevin this last month in his fight for life. Special thanks also to the wonderful and caring staff at Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
