Kenton Murry Gray, beloved husband, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on February 5, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 64. He was born on September 29, 1959 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to his mother, Suzan Gray Bianco and his late father, Sonny Gray. Kenton leaves behind a legacy of warmth, music, humor, and compassion. On April 24, 1987, Kenton met the love of his life Lisa (Swiggart). They were married on April 24, 2002. Kenton was the son of Faust and Suzan Bianco and the brother of Jana Gray Goots (David) and Bryndle Gray Jameson (Don). He will also be greatly missed by his aunts and uncles Tony and Tim Barrick and Beau and Janet Barrick, his mother-in-law Barbara Swiggart, and his sister-in-law, Leslie Krause (Karl), his niece, Katie Biery Kelton (Mike), and his nephews Peter Biery (Christina Churavy), Brendan Jameson and Collin Jameson, his great niece Amelia June Kelton, his cousins Scott Barrick, Ryan Barrick, Brandy Ousdahl Elston (Shaun), and Michael Ousdahl. Kenton shared a deep bond with his best friend, Pete Morris, who stood by him through thick and thin. Kenton had many cousins, extended family and friends who will remember him forever. Kenton was proceeded in death by his father, Sonny Gray, his father-in-law Hurst Swiggart and his grandparents Wayne and Gretta Barrick, Emma (Babe) Doan Gray, and Andy and Frieda Gray. He is also survived by his beloved kitties, Sonya, Spot, and Skye.
Kenton's talent for music was obvious from a very young age. He got his first drum set when he was 3 years old. He attended Edison High School and traveled to Europe with his high school band. Kenton continued to share his love of music by playing drums with the Sonny Gray Trio and the Suzan Gray Trio. Kenton had a successful career as an audio engineer for several local television stations and played with various musicians in town. He was an adventurous soul and loved motorcycles, snow skiing, roller skating and boating. His big passion was skydiving having logged an impressive 343 jumps. Anyone who knew him had an open invitation to go skydiving with him. Kenton loved cats and had a knack for rescuing and caring for them. His kitties were truly beloved members of his family. Kenton's charismatic personality made him a friend to all. He never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His gentle demeanor, intellect and artistic talent was admired by many. Kenton was a man of faith and spirituality, guided by his belief in goodness and kindness. He cared for his family and friends deeply and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
To honor Kenton, let us remember his incredible spirit, his passion for music, his love for animals and his remarkable ability to spread joy. Although he may have departed from this world, his legacy of love and compassion will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
