Kenneth “Kenny” Charles Baggett II sailed away peacefully on January 28, 2016, after a long and hard-fought battle with lung cancer. He was 41 years old. He was always an avid and very accomplished sailor, and his love for his family and friends was limitless. He fought through these rough waters and stormy skies for 2 years and 16 days until his last race came to an end.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Amanda, his crewmate who would never leave his side. He also leaves behind his four beloved children, Ethan, Allyson, Lauren, and Jaxon; his mother Cathy; his brothers, Aaron, Rusty, and Joshua, sisters-in-law, and their beautiful children; and his grandfather, father, and grandmother.
His love was like the sea, deep and powerful, and knowing no bounds. He changed lives as a teacher, as a sailor, as a friend, as a father, as a son, and as a husband. This world will be forever better because of him. He always loved his days and nights at Windycrest Sailing Club among friends and family. He even met the true love of his life on a sailboat on those waters, and was a happy man ever after.
Kenny had wanted no formal funeral, just remembrances with family and friends. One day he hoped to find himself back in those waters that he loved.
