Kenneth R. Murnan age 64 passed away Saturday, July 11, 2009 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Kenneth was born May 27, 1945 in Purcell, Oklahoma to James Murnan and Una Mae (Morris) Murnan. He graduated in 1963 from Delaware High School. In 1967 he graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Kenneth married Sandra Kay (Eller) Collins on March 17, 1966 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. During Kenneth's working career he worked for Sunray DX Gas Company; he was a sales representative for Xerox and most recently the owner/publisher of Nowata County People newspaper. In his spare time he enjoyed photography, reading, collecting baseball cards and spending time with his grandsons.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents: James and Una Mae Murnan.
He is survived by his wife: Sandra Kay Murnan of Delaware, Oklahoma; his son: Shawn Murnan and his wife, Candy of The Woodlands, Texas; his daughter: Brandi Vowell and her husband, Tony of Independence, Kansas; grandchildren: Jagger and Kya Murnan of The Woodlands, Texas; Caleb and Jakob Vowell of Independence, Kansas along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 16th at Living Word Family Church Building, Nowata, Oklahoma. Pastor Jim Winslow and Pastor Rick Thayer will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Living Word Family Church Building Fund.
