Kenneth M. Bunner, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Monday, January 07, 2013 at the age of 63. He was born November 11, 1949 to David and Ethel (Wind) Bunner in Okemah, Oklahoma. Kenneth served and retired from United States Army and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was Special Forces qualified and a multi Golden Glove Boxer. He was a teacher and coach for Ryal and Wilson Schools and a member of the Little Quassarte Baptist Church in Cromwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Ethel Bunner; sister, Brenda Casey; brother, David Bunner and son, Kenny Lyn Bunner. Survivors include his three children, Angela Bunner, Keith Bunner and wife, Katura and Jared Bunner, all of Okmulgee; two sisters, Patricia Bunner of Morris and Marjorie Bunner of Glenpool; two brothers, Mike Bunner of Okmulgee and Oscar Bunner of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Erin, Kaili, Ethan and Sophia Bunner and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Wake Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 10th at the Belvin Baptist Church in Okmulgee. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the Members of the Special Forces Association. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryan and Cody McGertt, Kevin Yahola, Jonathan, Aaron and Darin Cheek, David Haney, Travis White, Eugene Kahbeah, Dave Pascale, Mike Bowers and Adam Harjo. Military Honors will be conducted by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Honor Guard at the gravesite.
