Known to those close to him as "Kid" Kenneth James Morgan, a resident of Morris, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at his home surrounded by all who loved him. Kenneth was 69 years old. He was born on November 24, 1951, in Okemah, Oklahoma to Dan and Pauline L. Morgan.
Kenneth served in the United States Army from 1970- 1972. He was a member of the Tukabatchee tribal town of Wetumka, Oklahoma. He worked for many years as an arborist and mechanic. Kid enjoyed spending time hosting family gatherings and throwing horseshoes. He also enjoyed time in his man cave playing dominoes, cards, and watching OU Sooner Football with family and friends. Kenneth also liked fishing and watching classic Westerns and Judge Judy like clockwork every afternoon at 4 p.m.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Dan Morgan; and sister Juanita Baldridge. Kenneth is survived by his wife Jonnie Ann Morgan; sons Kenny Morgan of Ada, and Todd Morgan of Ardmore; daughter Kristi Morgan of Ardmore; stepdaughters Julie Kaler and Wendy Griffith both of Okmulgee; stepson Pete McDaniel of Checotah; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren, brother Emanual Morgan; sisters Diana Mitchell and Rachel Morgan of Okmulgee; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A wake service for Kenneth will be held 7 p.m., Monday, October 18, 2021, at the Montesoma Baptist Church in Okemah. A Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Montesoma Baptist Church with interment to follow at the Morgan Family Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Dennis Mitchell Jr., Emanuel Morgan Jr., Richard Morgan, Mac Sampson, Jason Morgan, Isaac Jennings. Honorary Casketbearers will be Michael Morgan, Bill West, Adam Starr, Kevin Mitchell, Paul Baldridge, Steve Baldridge, Shawn Baldridge, Dennis Mitchell Sr., and Jerome Morgan.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Schaudt Funeral Service of Okmulgee.
