Kenneth Francis Horne, age 74, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008 at his Catoosa, Oklahoma residence.
Kenneth was born April 29, 1933 to Francis Edward Horne and Thelma E. (Thorp) Horne in Choctaw, Oklahoma. He graduated from high school and on May 23, 1951 he enlisted and served in the United States Army for the next three years. Ken was a self-employed carpet installer and worked at his trade for forty-five years before retiring. Ken married Loyce (Brakebill) Horne on December 12, 1973 in Columbus, Kansas. He enjoyed traveling and watching western movies on television. He was an avid OU football fan and also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys. He lived with his three grandchildren: Chase, Colton and London Carrington.
Ken was preceded in death by both his parents: Francis and Thelma Horne along with one grandchild. He is survived by his wife: Loyce Horne of Catoosa; his three step-sons: David J. Carrington of Catoosa; Charles W. Carrington, Jr. of Vian; Anthony John Rakowitz, of Portland, Oregon; his daughter: Donna Shaw of Poplar Bluff, MO; his two brothers: Edward Horne of Oklahoma City; Robert Horne of Yukon; his two sisters: Shirley Ferris of Blanchard, Florean Melot of Oklahoma City along with sixteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 31st at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 146 South Sheridan, Tulsa, Oklahoma at Reverend Tim Dreier will officiate.
