Katherine Asberry Sayles was born in Haskell, Oklahoma on April 12, 1929 to Ennis Asberry and Pinky Lee Goree. Katherine attended school at W.T. Vernon School in Taft, Oklahoma
.
Katherine met William Murray Sayles in Bartlesville, OK in 1954. She was a strong and powerful mother who became the matriarch of her family due to the unexpected death of her husband. She raised her four children on her own and worked at Coney Island.
She had an undeniable devotion to her family. She would visit her siblings and cousins in Haskell, OK. She also took time to watch her grandchildren and teach them many life lessons.
She was an avid walker and anyone who knew her could see her a mile away. Later in life she attended Elder Care Daybreak Program where she was able to pursue her passion in arts and crafts.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband William M. Sayles and her parents Ennis Asberry and Pinky L. Goree.
Katherine leaves to cherish her memories: two sons and two daughters William C. Sayles and his wife Rochelle of Owasso, OK, Charles Sayles of Bartlesville, OK, Shirley Sayles of Bartlesville, OK, and Kathy Landrum and her husband Jackson of Tulsa, OK. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
