Karla Kay Tarango passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 at the age of 57 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born in Cyril, Oklahoma and grew up with her two brothers, Keith and Kevin.
Karla graduated in 1979 from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa. In her younger years she loved music and dancing, and said she even took disco dancing lessons at one point as a teenager/young adult. She worked for the State of Oklahoma for over 20 years, and was an inspiration to her two daughters, Kara and Angela, by completing her Bachelor's degree all while being a full-time working mom as well.
Spending time with her family was one of her favorite things to do. She also enjoyed going to concerts, traveling, going out to eat, playing Bingo, and watching movies. Karla loved many movies, but some of her favorites were Urban Cowboy, An Officer and a Gentleman, and of course any movie or music by Elvis Presley was on her favorites list as well. She loved roses and her favorite place to go and visit was the beach.
If someone had to describe Karla, most would agree that she was a hugger. She loved to give hugs and always told us she loved us. She was at her best when she was helping someone. While in the hospital a few months ago, she was a blessing and a big help to her roommate there by showing her around and helping her feel at ease. As a Christian, she is now at home with the Lord. We know it's not goodbye, it's "see you on the other side." We love you!!!
Karla is survived by her mother, Laverne Williams; two daughters, Kara Medina and husband Juan, and Angela Garcia, both of Glenpool; two brothers; Kevin and Keith Long, both of Glenpool; her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends whom she loved.
