Karl Julius Strenge, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 at the age of 81. He was born October 6, 1932 to Julius and Katharina (Bonas) Strenge in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Navy. Mr. Strenge was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Okmulgee and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1677 in Okmulgee. He worked for 35 years for Lucent Technology out of Philadelphia, where he retired with CTI. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Iva Mae Harmon Strenge; parents, Julius and Katharina Strenge and one son, Stephen Edward Chasteen. Survivors include his wife, Marlene Chasteen Strenge; his children, Bethann Strenge and Paul Yau, David Karl Strenge and wife, Laurie, Jacqueline Bubar and husband, Mark, Kristine Farhat and husband, Nadim, Sean Edward Chasteen and wife, Kenberly and Thomas Edward Chasteen and wife, Shawn; one brother, Paul Hans Strenge; eleven grandchildren, Jacquelyn Bubar, Jonathan Bubar, Reed Farhat, Averi Farhat, Adin Farhat, Garrit Strenge, Annelore Strenge, Katharina Strenge, Ashley VanHooser, Whitney Biggiam and Wyatt Chasteen; one great grandchild, Kole Bryce VanHooser and numerous other relatives and friends. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014 and A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014 both at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Okmulgee with Father Benjamin Vima officiating.
