Karen June Meehan, born on September 7, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Junior and Virginia Green, peacefully passed away on April 23, 2024, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Karen's life was one of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends.
On November 8, 1998, Karen united in marriage with James Gregory Meehan in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and companionship until James's passing on May 25, 2020. Together, they shared a profound love that continues to inspire those who knew them.
Karen's memory will be forever cherished by her surviving family members, including her devoted son Kenneth Watkins of Tulsa, her son D.J. Watkins of Tulsa, her brother David Green of Okmulgee, and her close friend Linda Egli of Virginia Beach. She will also be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Trisha Davis, David Jr., Jeremey, Shaun, and Lee.
Karen lived life to the fullest, finding joy in simple pleasures and treasured moments with loved ones. She had a passion for travel, eagerly exploring new destinations and embarking on memorable cruises. Karen also enjoyed playing bunko, spending time by her beloved backyard pool, and collecting Precious Moments figurines.
Known for her reliability and generosity, Karen was always willing to lend a helping hand and give selflessly to those in need. Her kind and compassionate nature endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her, and she will be remembered as a steadfast and loyal friend.
Professionally, Karen dedicated 25 years of her life to the accounting department at Windstream before retiring in December 2018. Her commitment to excellence and strong work ethic left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the company alike.
Karen's educational journey began at Beggs High School and continued with the pursuit of an Associate's degree in Accounting from TCC, laying the foundation for her successful career and lifelong love of learning.
To honor and celebrate Karen's life, a public viewing will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Schaudt Funeral Service, located at 5757 South Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74145.
Additionally, a cryptside service will take place on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 5111 South Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74145.
These gatherings will provide an opportunity for friends, family, and loved ones to come together to mourn Karen's passing, share cherished memories, and bid her a final farewell.
