Karen Marquette

Karen Lynn Marquette, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the age of 68. Born on November 9, 1955, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Robert and Juanda Gorbet, Karen spent her life in the community she loved, Bixby, Oklahoma.

Karen attended and graduated from Bixby High School in 1974, where she met and fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Kevin Marquette. They were married in 1975 and enjoyed 40 years of marriage until Kevin's passing in 2015. She was also an active member of the Downtown Bixby Church of Christ her entire life.

A dedicated homemaker, Karen's life revolved around spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Karen is preceded in death by husband Kevin and parents Bob & Juanda Gorbet. She is survived by two brothers Gary Gorbet (wife Mary) and Donnie Gorbet; four daughters and their husbands, Paula and Jason Turner, Karla and Joe Kent, Nikki and Ryan Hoskin, and Kati and Bill Johnson; and 7 grandchildren, Kaynie (husband Garrett), Jaxson, Hunter, McKenzie, Brayden, Emmalee, and Cooper.

A viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, 1329 East 151st St., Glenpool, OK 74033.

A funeral celebrating Karen's life will take place at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the Downtown Bixby Church of Christ, 15802 S Memorial Dr., Bixby, OK 74008, with burial to follow at Bixby Cemetery.
