Karen Lee Delashaw age 47 passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013 at her Jenks, Oklahoma residence.
Karen was born in Lubbock, Texas on June 1, 1966 to Jerry Delashaw and Lou Anna (Dixon) Delashaw. She graduated from Jenks High School with the Class of 1984. In 1988 Karen received a Bachelors Degree in communications from Tulsa University. She worked as a Case Administrator for United States Bankruptcy Court for four years and in the past she also worked for Tulsa County. Karen grew up surrounded by the church family at South Brooke Church of Christ. After relocating to Jenks, she found great strength and comfort at the Triple Cross Cowboy Church.
Karen was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roy and Ethel Delashaw and Bessie Dixon.
Karen is survived by children, Joshua and Jessica Long, her parents Jerry and Lou Anna Delashaw of Wichita, Kansas, brother and sister in-law Mark and Julie Delashaw of North Little Rock, Arkansas, nephews Noah and Jacob Delashaw of North Little, Rock, Arkansas, grandfather Alton Dixon of Abilene, Texas as well as many close friends and relatives including Trisha Goodman, a close family friend and supportive caregiver.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (www.bcrfcure.org) or the Animal Rescue Foundation of Tulsa (www.arftulsa.org).
Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C. Schaudt of Schaudt’s Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care. A time of remembrance and celebration of Karen’s life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 3:00 pm.
