June Carolyn (Reed) Hearn went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at the age of 80. A service celebrating the life of June will be held on Wednesday, January 24th, at 2:00 PM, at the 29th and Yale Church of Christ in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A longtime family friend and preacher Gary Colley will be officiating.
June was born on June 8, 1937, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Pansy (Whitehorn) Reed and Carl Reed. She graduated from Central Little Rock High School in 1955. In the years following her high school graduation, June worked as a Revenue Officer with the IRS and later married Wayne Hearn. She and Wayne lived in Jacksonville, Arkansas, where their son, Dale Hearn, was born. She was an active member for over 35 years at the North Little Rock Church of Christ in North Little Rock, Arkansas. In her later years, June lived in Dallas and Tulsa to be near her son and his family.
June will be remembered by all who knew her for her joyous life that was filled with smiles and laughter. June’s love for God was evident in her relationships with her friends and family. On a daily basis, June exuded a positive attitude even in the face of adversity. As a wife, June excelled in caring for her husband. Anyone who knew June, also knew of her special love and dedication to her son and grandchildren.
June was a lifelong Arkansas Razorback fan. In her later years, she treasured her trips to visit her sister and brother-in-law.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Pansy (Whitehorn) Reed and Carl Reed.
Survivors include her husband of almost 50 years, Wayne Hearn; son, Dale Hearn and his wife Nancy; two grandsons, Christopher Hearn and Clayton Hearn; and sister, Joyce Everett, and her husband, Lloyd.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 24th, from 1 PM to 2 PM at the 29th and Yale Church of Christ in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Interment will take place at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock, Arkansas on Monday January 29, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
