Julianna Riley

Julianna Gunn Riley passed away on March 15, 2012. She was born June 27, 1940 in Midland, Michigan to Mary and Lyle Hunt. She graduated from Midland High School in 1958, then attended Albion on a swimming and diving scholarship. She graduated with her Bachelor's degree English from Eastern Michigan in 1962, and completed her Master's degree in Education in 1984 from Northeastern University in Oklahoma. She continued her pursuit of study to complete another 60 post-graduate hours. She was a teacher with Tulsa Public Schools for 27 years, with the majority of that time at Byrd Middle School, before retiring in 1997. She then worked with the 'No Child Left Behind' program for another six years. She was married to George James Gunn in 1961 and had two daughters, Shannon and Kendra. She divorced in 1978, and remarried Euclid Bruce Riley in 1998. She had two stepsons from that union, Michael and Steve. When not being a very dedicated teacher she enjoyed traveling, gardening, bunco, and book club, but most of all her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her one sister, Regina May McAnallen and her husband, Bruce. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Ray Latchem and their three children Ross, Ryan and Lauren, and her other daughter Kendra and her son Blake. Private family services were held Thursday, March 15, 2012. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C. Schaudt of Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care.
