Judy (Johnson) Stacy, age 97, Tulsa resident, passed away on February 4, 2018 with loved ones by her side.
She was born December 2, 1920 in Pawhuska, OK to Paul Johnson and Myra (Copeland) Johnson. She grew up in Tulsa and was a member of the 1938 graduating Class of old Tulsa Central High School.
Judy met her future husband, Thomas Stacy on a blind date and they were married in 1943 in Tulsa, while he was on leave from the US Navy. Upon his honorable discharge he began working for Rockwell International and his work took them to Houston then Pennsylvania to finally Missouri where they retired. Judy and Thomas moved to Tulsa some 20 years ago to be near their daughter, Jill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Myra Johnson; husband, Thomas; 2 brothers; daughter Pamela (Stacy) Orcutt; and infant son Tommy.
Judy was a member of the PEO, DAR, and Presbyterian Women which she served as Presbytery moderator. She was a longtime member of the Tulsa First Presbyterian Church, where she was married and her first child was baptized and before that was a very active member of the Neosho Presbyterian Church. Judy was an avid reader, knitter, bridge player and a Meals on Wheels Volunteer for over 25 years.
She leaves many loving memories to be cherished by her family, daughter, Jill Stacy, of Tulsa; granddaughter, Andrea (Orcutt) Martin; son-in-law, David Orcutt, both of Virginia; as well as many other loving family members.
She will always be remembered as a gentle, kind, loving and generous Christian woman.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
