Judy Whiten, age 81, passed away peacefully March 25, 2022 due to lung and brain cancer. Judy Kay Whiten came into the world August 31, 1940 as a home birth in the same home her Daddy was born in. Judy was a wonderful little sister to her brother, Loy and sister, Sue. She also was a great big sister and mom to her little sister, Glenda. She lived in Oklahoma her whole life. Judy didn't learn to drive until she was married and pregnant with her first son, Tony. She would later have two more sons, Terry and Tim. Many years later she married the love of her life, Jim Whiten and became a stepmom to Kim and Terry Lee.
She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, bunco, crosswords, cyptoquotes, going to the movies and watching OU football with family and friends. She worked as a bookkeeper for Roland Homes, Braden Winch and most recent was Northside Christian Church. She and her husband, Jim both faced cancer together. Though he lost his fight to his cancer in 2001, she turned to her faith and Northside Christian Church. There at Northside Christian Church she met Chris Philbeck who connected her to many lifelong friends. She would later serve and worked at the church.
She enjoyed going on day trips with her sister, Glenda and brother-in-law, Buddy. She loved hearing him sing as part of a gospel quartet all over Oklahoma. She would also travel to every base her son, Tim was stationed from Hawaii, Florida; South Korea, Japan and Tinker Airforce Base. Judy also cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. When the time came she could no longer live alone, she became a resident at the Linden at Stonehaven Square in Tulsa, Ok. There she never met a stranger and found more friends. She was well cared for by those friends and staff the last few years of her life.
