Judy Gayle Heape

April 23, 1946 — June 4, 2019

Judy Gayle Heape (73) passed onto her heavenly home on June 4, 2019 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was born April 23, 1946, in Pampa, Texas, to Rev Lyle and Allene (Ray) Sharp. She married Larry Gene Heape on August 24, 1963, in Lovington, New Mexico.

She was a stay at home mom and devoted herself to raising her daughters. Once her daughters were both moved out of the house she began working at an urgicare clinic and later for an attorney as an executive assistant. Judy always put her children's and husband's needs first. During both her daughters' teen years she never missed a sports event they were involved in. She ran the concession stand at all the home games and drove the team to away games.

She and Larry moved to Alaska, along with their three month old baby, from New Mexico to Alaska, via the AlCan, arriving in Anchorage in October, of 1966. Judy hated the first winter, but quickly fell in love with Alaska. There they managed a college aged ministry drama/music group, Heart's Desire, that traveled the state of Alaska for 5+ years. This was the highlight of their lives, ministering to people as well as serving the young people in the group. Their home was a place of refuge for many young people needing guidance over the years. She loved living in Alaska and all the hunting/fishing adventures over the years. They moved, after 44 years of living in Alaska, only to be closer to family, in December of 2010. Despite not living in Alaska anymore, Judy was proud to be an Alaskan. For all that knew, or know Larry and Judy Heape, know what a blessing they were, and are, to so many.

Though, she became a grandparent later in life she loved her 4 grandchildren. She would always light up when talking about them or seeing their picture. She and Larry married young and would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this August. They showed the example of what unconditional love was to their family and friends.

Judy loved flowers, lace, teacups, her family and animals. She always loved doing the holidays big. She always had a giving heart and blessed many people over the years.

Judy was preceded in death by her loving mother, Allene.

Surviving family members are: her devoted husband, Larry of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; daughter, Lorri Wootan and husband Lewis, and 2 grandaughters Kaylee and Rylee of Keizer, Oregon; daughter, Lisa Back and Husband Ray of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, with their 2 boys, Joshua and Ayden; her father, Rev Lyle Sharp, of Chouteau, Oklahoma; two maternal uncles, Larry Ray, and wife Lynn of Pampa, Texas, and J.D., and wife Marianne of Blacklick, Ohio, along with multiple remaining cousins.
