Judith "Jan" Jones

January 11, 1933 — September 21, 2015

Judith "Jan" Ann Jones passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at her home in Sand Springs. Jan was born January 11, 1933 in Norman , OK, the daughter of Curtis Franklin and Helen Ross Turner. Jan married Dr. Paul C. Kemmerly in 1953. She later married Lloyd Jones in 1980 who passed away in 1993.

Jan graduated from Webster High School in 1950, Cottey Junior College in 1952, University of Tulsa in 1953 and was in the sorority Delta Delta Delta Class in 1953. She received a BS Early Education degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1954.
Jan taught first grade for five years, did Market Research and US Census Work, was Administrative Secretary for Amoco Petro Physics Training Group at the Amoco Research Center and was a secretary, treasurer, and co-owner of CWT Consultants, Inc. for World Wide Travel and traveled extensively.

She was a member and officer for Republican Women, member and officer for the International Chapter PEO Sisterhood, was involved in several historical society memberships, CASA, Election Board Appointments from 2003-2007 appointment for Delaware County Election Board.

Jan loved to work crossword puzzles with her morning coffee. She loved to see nature and enjoyed open views from her home. Jan was a tap dancer with Red Glove Review for several years. She enjoyed the ocean and collected shells from all over for her craft projects. She was an avid researcher of genealogy going back many generations and creating volumes of documents on each line. Jan loved to travel. She had the opportunity to travel around the world for pleasure with her late husband and their consulting company. In her later years she enjoyed traveling with her friends in Grove, OK and their traveling groups taking many exciting trips overseas.

She is survived by her four sons: Paul Kevin Kemmerly, Adam Charles
Kemmerly, Nathan Todd Kemmerly, and John Ross Kemmerly; and eight grandchildren; and her sister Lynn Ross Turner Grissom.

In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Webster High School Athlete Program (in memo wrestling). Arrangements have been entrusted to Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service at Memorial Park, 5757 S. Memorial Drive in Tulsa. A memorial ceremony is scheduled for 3:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. www.tulsafuneral.com
