Juanita Ruth Kelly, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the age of 72. She was born Wednesday, September 29, 1937 to George Coser, Sr. and Abbie Leaster Cummings in Claremore, Oklahoma. She graduated in 1955 from Sequoyah High School and she retired from St. John’s Hospital as a nurse’s aide where she worked for over 30 years. She was a member of the Okmulgee Indian Baptist Church and Okmulgee Indian Community. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom Beaver and Leaster Cumminigs; father, George Coser, Sr.; sisters, Nancy Bruner and Joycetta Bark; brothers, Skipper Tiger and Robert Tiger and daughter, Ramona Butler; brother-in-law, Wesley Butler, sister-in-law, Leta Marshall and aunt, Hettie Tiger. Survivors include her children, Roger D. Butler and wife, Marina of Bowlegs, Ronald D. Butler and wife, Shirley of Coweta, Randall G. Butler of the home, Ruth E. Day and husband, Paul of Ponca City and her other children, Julia Mendoza of Tulsa, Christine Butler of Tulsa and Andy Butler of Hanna; brothers, Prentice Tiger and wife, Alta of Tulsa, George Coser, Jr. of Glenpool, Dr. Pete Coser of Stillwater, Wayne Coser of Okmulgee and Joe Wallace Bruner and wife, Rachel of Lamar; sisters, Lonnie Tapia and husband, Arnie of Seattle, WA, Izora Carter of Okmulgee, Doreen K. Murray and husband, Johnny of Hanna, Sharon Neil and husband, Rick of Broken Arrow, Louise Wisdom and husband, Johnsey of Tulsa, Charlene Keah-Tigh of Miami, Georgia Coser Frye of Muskogee and Nettie Harjo of Okmulgee; grandsons, Cory Butler, Gannon Brown, Brandon “B.J.” Butler, Earl S. Howe IV, Colton Butler, Brent Butler, Ryan Butler, Dakota Marshall and Prudencio Mendoza; granddaughters, Rayna Thornton, Tia Brown, RaeLynn Butler, Shannon Hart, Amy Lynn Barnett, Ashley “Honey” Butler, Elaina Howe and Becky Butler; sixteen great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Robert Smith, Matt Wisdom, William Gouge, Dennis Simpson, Sterling Harjo, Rufus Gould, Mike Wisdom and Vincent Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers will be her Grandsons. Visitation will begin Thursday, August 5th at 12:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The first Wake Services will be held Thursday, August 5th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. The second Wake Service will be held Friday, August 6th at 7:00 p.m. at the Belvin Baptist Church in Okmulgee. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 7th at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee with Pastor Will Hill and Reverend Joe W. Bruner officiating.
