Joyce Ann Brown

Joyce Ann Brown passed away Sunday evening, December 28, 2014 at her home in Tulsa. She was born August 5, 1947 in Tulsa to James and Gladys (Austin) Vantries. Joyce was raised in Tulsa and graduated from Nathan Hale High School. She attended Oklahoma State University. Joyce married Jerry Brown on Valentine's Day in 1980. They were members of Asbury United Methodist Church.

Joyce loved to watch her kids/grand kids play sports. She loved going to the lake to fish and just float out on the water with her dogs. Joyce enjoyed gardening, so much so that she could often be caught in the wee hours of the morning planting to beat the heat of the day. The backyard was her place of relaxation. She would often sit on the porch with Jerry and watch the humming birds, cardinals, and squirrels at play. Mom deeply loved the dogs and cats that she had along the way. Joyce was always in the mood for fine dining and she could never pass up a good sale!

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry; children Jason Brown and his wife Regina, Christy Brown, Jared Brown and his wife Carmen, Daniel Brown and his wife Rachel, and Dustin Brown; her grandchildren Madeleine, Brandon, Camdyn, Jackson, Connor, Emersyn, Layla, and Ethan.

The family will receive friends at a visitation scheduled Wednesday from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at the funeral home. No formal services will be planned.
