Joy Louise Morton Hart

Joy Louise Morton Hart passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the age of 96. She was born in Duncan to Nell (Love) Morton and Lois A. ('L.A.') Morton on Sept. 5, 1915. Louise attended Emerson Elementary School, Duncan High School and Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. She worked in the county library system and as a secretary at Halliburton. She was active in the Duncan First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and played the piano. Louise raised her children in Duncan. She spent her later years in the Tulsa area so she could be closer to her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her pleasant disposition, impeccable manners and her incredible generosity of time to friends and family. Louis was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Louis and James Morton; and her sisters, Sue (Stockell) Morton and Martha Morton. She is survived by her four children, Larry M. Hart and wife, Roianne, of Pebble Beach, Calif., Bill R. Hart of Sand Springs, Robert K. Hart and wife, Trudy, of Irvine, Calif., and Virginia ( Ginger) Hart Baker and husband, Jack, of Beggs; and 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
