Jowel Calvin Moody age 89 passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Glenwood HealthCare Center in Glenpool, Oklahoma. Jowel was born August 6, 1923 in Stroud, Oklahoma to Bryan Moody and Maggie (Rogers) Moody. He graduated from Stroud High School in 1941. Jowel received a scholarship and played football at Central State University. He married Louise Imogene Mahnke on July 12, 1946. He served in the United States Air Force as a Tech Sargent. He worked as a repeater man for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for forty-three years. In his spare time Jowel enjoyed hunting, gardening and raising cattle. Jowel attended Grace Church of Tulsa. Jowel was preceded in death by his parents, twelve siblings and his loving wife, Louise, who passed away April 12, 2012. He is survived by his daughter: Coralean Wilkerson of Broken Arrow, his son, Russell Don Moody of Nevada, Texas, his brothers, Hubert Moody of Edna, Texas, Paul Moody of Oklahoma City, his sister, Virginia Pipeke of Pauls Valley, his grandchildren, Shonja, Johnathan, Maggie, Emily, his great grandchildren, Ashleigh, Austin, Matthew, Britain, Collin, Kade, Hayden along with other family members and friends. Visitation is 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Schaudt's Funeral Service, 719 East 141st Street, Glenpool, Oklahoma. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Schaudt's Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Gary Volz will officiate. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C.
