Joseph Marion Slauf went to his heavenly home on December 29, 2016, at Inola Heath and Rehabilitation Center in Inola, OK. He was born on December 21, 1942, the son of Steven and Golda Slauf in Elkhart, IN.
He married Cheron Sibert on November 3, 1962, she preceded him in death on November 25, 2005.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, several siblings, a granddaughter Sheila Ann Tillton in 1989. and two sons Martin on November 12, 2016 and Timothy Slauf on October 31, 1995, and a daughter-in-law Donna Slauf on October 3, 2016.
He was a member of the Free United Methodist Church of Claremore, OK, he loved to read his Bible and knew the scriptures well. During his life he worked as a machinist, flooring, mechanic, janitorial services, and painter, as well as several other passions. He was also an avid gardener, loved to pick a tune on his guitar, he wrote songs and short stories in his younger years, and he was a lover of animals great and small. Over the course of his life he loved to watch many legendary cowboy movies and other types of movies too numerous to mention, worked hard and played long.
Survivors include two daughters, Khristianna McKinney of Salem, OR, Mary Slauf of Casper, WY, 7 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Also survived by Mary and Daniel Lamb family who stepped into to take care of him after his wife's death.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Sweeten Cemetery, Inola, OK, at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be 10:00am-5:00pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2016 at Schaudt Funeral Service Chapel, 719 E. 141st Street, Glenpool, OK
