Joseph David Dufresne, Sr. age 73 passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family members.
Joe was born June 15, 1936 to Joseph David and Ruth Ann (Adie) Dufresne in Boston, Massachusetts. He grew up in Boston; left Boston in 1969 and moved to Southern California spent some time in Idaho, Washington, and everywhere in between, in 1981 he moved to the Sapulpa, Oklahoma area. Joe served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Westover Air Force Base. He married Charlene Alexander in Rogers, Arkansas on August 19, 1985. Joe was a small business owner in the courier service industry.
Joe was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and tried to convert everyone he met, especially Yankee's fans. He also liked gardening and traveling and he never met a stranger. Joe had a strong work ethic which he instilled in his children. He was known to check up on his children Joe and Nicole and his son's wife, Thelma, at their work places. He was just making sure they were working and taking care of business. This trait stands out in his son's memory of his dad.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Ruth Dufresne.
Joe is survived by his wife: Charlene Dufresne of Sapulpa; his sons: Joe Dufresne and his wife, Thelma; Chris Dufresne, Donnie Brown and his wife, Susan; his daughters: Nicole Conner and her husband, Leroy; Melissa Dueitt, his sisters: Barbara O'Halloran, Alice Felton; his brothers: Arthur and Albert Dufresne; his twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances.
