Jose Luis was a man of action, love, and service. He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Maria, with whom he shared a deep and lasting bond far beyond the years they were married. He also leaves behind his two sons, Jose Luis Guzman Zepeda, Bruce Guzman, his daughter Priscila Guzman, his beloved dog Lolita, along with several siblings and a large, loving extended family who will forever cherish his memory.

Jose Luis lived a full and vibrant life. In his younger years, he traveled extensively while working for the airlines, sparking his deep love for adventure, good food, and the simple beauty of life. He loved the beach, authentic Mexican food — especially enchiladas and seafood — and always took pride in looking sharp and smelling good. Whether he was exploring a flea market, hunting for antiques and vintage treasures, or tending to his garden, Jose Luis embraced life with energy and passion.

A lifelong sports lover, he especially enjoyed soccer and remained athletic and active throughout his life. His love for Mexico City never faded, and he carried the spirit of his home with him wherever he went. Animals were naturally drawn to him, and he loved them just as much in return.

Jose Luis was not a man of many words when it came to expressing his love, but his actions spoke volumes. He showed his heart through acts of service — always willing to lend a hand, give a gift, or even the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His love language was clear: he gave of himself freely, humbly, and wholeheartedly.

Faith was important to Jose Luis, and he found joy in staying busy, serving others, and being an active member of his church community. His social nature and warm presence made him loved by so many.
