Jonathan Nicholas Landin, known to his friends as Jon, died unexpectedly on November 6th, 2024 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jon was born on January 5th, 1972 in Omaha, Nebraska, to Nicholas and Faye (Brady) Landin. He grew up in Omaha with his brother Mark and sisters Jennifer and Lesli.
In 1979 he relocated with his family to Jenks, Oklahoma. He graduated from Jenks High School in 1990. He played tight end on the Jenks Trojan football team his sophomore through senior years.
After high school Jon attended Oklahoma State University and joined the Delta Chi fraternity. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Protection. He launched his career at Eaton in Dekalb, Illinois; spent the majority at Nordam Repair Division in Tulsa, and most recently at Arcosa Wind Towers also in Tulsa. To support his career he achieved his Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
Jon was a gentle giant of a man, with a sly sense of humor and sense of calm confidence about him. He loved college football, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Oklahoma State Cowboys. He lived a life of personal health and fitness, he achieved his I.S.S.A. certification for Personal Training, trained others, and never stopped lifting weights. Jon also enjoyed music of all kinds but primarily rock and heavy metal ... he was proficient on guitar and grew up playing tuba and coronet.
Jon was preceded in death by his mother Faye. He is survived by his father, Nicholas Landin, of Tulsa; his brother Mark and his wife Mary Jane of Broken Arrow; and sisters Jennifer and Lesli, all of Tulsa; his nieces Desiree Scocos, her husband Reed, and their children Greyson and Arlo, all of Coweta, Oklahoma; Meagan Tripp and her son Ace, of Tulsa, and Rachel Palmer and her husband Matthew, also of Tulsa; and nephew Eric Landin, of Broken Arrow.
