Jollie Lois Worsham, 84 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Saint Francis Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Jollie was born in Dewey, Oklahoma on September 18, 1933, the daughter of the late Jennie Leon (David) and Jack Lyle Dobelbower. She was a graduate of Webster High School.
After graduation, she married her best friend and love of her life, Wallace Tyler Worsham on December 21, 1952. Together they had five beautiful children and were married just shy of 65 years. They attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she taught the Wednesday night girls GA's class. In 1967, the family became members of the Jenks First Baptist Church and have been members ever since. She and Wally loved to square dance. Jollie helped bring in extra income using her skills to teach a knitting class at Sears many years ago. However, her job as a para-professional with Jenks Public Schools brought her much joy, as she was able to help coach the Jenks Special Olympics Team. After many years there, she retired in 1995. Upon retirement, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, and spending time with her loved ones. Being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was by far her most important role in life.
Jollie is preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Jennie Dobelbower; brother, Jack Dobelbower; and a niece who was her namesake, Jollie Lu Dobelbower.
She is survived by her loving husband, Wally Worsham; children, Jennie Steele and Jim, Judy Poplin and Wally, James Worsham and Barbara, Joy Carris and Nick, and Joelle Williams and Mark; grandchildren, Kelly Burr, Tracy Tennison, Jamie Yeats, Jackie Holland, Blake Williams, Julia Gaylor, Nicholas Carris, and Zarek Carris; nine great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
