John Wayne Hingey passed away with loving family by his side on Thursday, July 23, 2020, at the age of 69 years. John was born on December 15, 1950 in Tulsa, OK to his parents, John and Mary (Renigar) Hingey. John proudly served our country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy. He met this “sweetheart,” Margaret Iverson in Tulsa, where they were later married on November 3, 1973. John worked as a Systems Technician at Southwestern Bell Telephone/AT&T. John retired from that career in 2012, after 37 loyal years. John and Margaret made their home in Tulsa where they raised their three children, Jill, Ellen, and Jonathon. After his retirement from the telephone company, John quickly found a home at DVM Labs as a part time employee. John wasn’t one for sitting still, and spent his retirement working, fishing, playing handball, and as a butterfly and flower enthusiast. John was a true outdoorsman.
John is survived by his wife of 46 years, Margaret, their children: Jill Hingey, Ellen Mayberry and her husband, Lonnie, and Jonathon Hingey and his wife, Laura. John leaves full hearts of memories with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Brittanie (Javier), Kayleigh, Claire, Max, Lucy, Henry, Roman, Oliver, and Kingston. He is also survived by his three brothers: Steve, Bob, and Ken Hingey and two sisters: Mary Kay Pulliam and Charlotte McDougal along with many other loving relatives and a host of friends.
