John Phillp Brooks

John Phillip Brooks a resident of Okmulgee passed away on Wednesday February 8, 2012 at the age of 81. He was born on April 15, 1930 in Woodville, OK to Steve and Minnie (Collins) Brooks. John served his country in the US Army and was a retired Home Builder. He is survived by his brother, James Brooks of Okmulgee, nephew, John Thomas Breedlove of Okmulgee, 3 nieces, Susan Breedlove of Tulsa, Sharon Tomaney of Oklahoma City, Sarah Pettit of Oklahoma City as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Hazel Choate and brother, Claude Brooks. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Friday from 9:00 A.M. to noon at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee with Rev. Victoria Bonat officiating. Burial services will follow at Okmulgee Cemetery.
