John Leland Carnes

John Leland Carnes went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. John was born in Rome, Georgia March 8, 1941 to parents Charles Leonard and Bessie Mae Carnes. While still a baby his family relocated to Chester, VA.

John had a strong work ethic and worked hard to support his family. He retired from Alcatel-Lucent in 2001 after 23 years of employment. John had a great sense of humor and made everyone laugh. John was married to his wife Kathy for 41 years.

John is survived by his wife Kathy; daughters Debbie, April and Nikki. Grandchildren Stephen, Cameron, Riley, Mikayla and Juleeonnah. 2 Great grandchildren Zayden and Arianna. His brother Steve and his wife Debi and their children and grandchildren.

John is preceded in death by his father, Charles Leonard and mother, Bessie Mae Carnes.

There will be a Memorial Service held March 30, 2016 at 4pm at the Schaudt-Teel Funeral Home.
