John Edward Iverson

John Edward Iverson age 71 passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at his Glenpool residence. John was born June 19, 1941 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Milton L. Iverson and Gwendolyn R. Hoy. In 1951 he moved from St. Louis to Tulsa and in 1998 he moved to Glenpool. He married Wanda Webb on November 23, 1982. For thirty-five years he worked as a referee for Oklahoma Secondary School Activity Association refereeing football, basketball and baseball. He was inducted into the OSSAA Hall of Fame. Sports played a very important role in his life. Baseball was his real love and he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He also followed Tulsa University's football team. John was retired from Don Carlton Honda where he worked as a parts manager. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Gwendolyn Iverson and his sister, Ellen R. Hill. John is survived by his loving wife, Wanda F. Iverson of Glenpool, his sons, Danny of Tulsa, David of Houston, Texas, Eric of Grove, OK, his sister, Margaret Hingey of Tulsa, six grandchildren, three nieces, four nephews, other family members, friends and acquaintances. Visitation is 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Thursday with Rosary following at 6:30 p.m. at Schaudt's Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Schaudt's Funeral Service Chapel, Glenpool, Oklahoma. Monsignor Patrick Gaalaas will officiate. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C. Schaudt of Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care.
