John D Kell was born to Perry and Pearl (Cockrell) Kell in Twin Oaks, OK. He resided in Morris, Oklahoma. He married Shirley Yvonne Goodwin in May of 1957. Together, they brought forth five children, two daughters and three sons. John was an army soldier, welder, janitor, and jailer throughout his lifetime. He served on the front lines in the United States Army during the Korean War and earned three bronze stars, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Korean Service Medal for his actions. John’s hobbies included playing music and raising livestock. He loved to play bluegrass music with his friends and family, he once had the opportunity to play with John Chick, on the “John Chick show”. In addition, he enjoyed having livestock and teaching his children and grandchildren about animals. John had a fun and loving personality, everyone who came into contact with him, enjoyed a pleasant and entertaining conversation. John is a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom he found comfort and faith.

John is survived by his children, Debra Lavonne Kell, George Alan Kell, John Richard Kell, Ronald Gene Kell, Brenda Lee Evans, their spouses, Rita Kell, Glennette Kell, Cynthia Kell, and Robert Evans. Grandchildren, Misty Vanlandingham, Jeff Dunegan, Christy Hamilton, Kevin Davis, Gregory Kell, Rachel Chapman, Jacob Kell, Emily Kell, Caleb Evans and 10 great grandchildren.

John is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Yvonne Kell, his mother Pearl (Cockrell) Kell, his father, Perry Kell, and his siblings, Faye, Jean, Erma, George, Tresha, and Clarice.

Visitation for John will be Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Schaudt's Okmulgee Funeral Service from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.

A graveside service for John will be held at Sunrise Cemetery in Kellyville, OK at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 3, 2020.
