John Alexander Martin

September 3, 1962 — June 30, 2018

John Alexander Martin, age 55, passed away early morning, in his home, on June 30, 2018, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Sep. 3, 1962, to Clifford and Patricia Martin in San Diego, California. John received a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice Management and Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma where he would follow on to serve 30 years in law enforcement, received two Courage and Valor Medals from the State of Oklahoma, and was bestowed the legacy of Director Emeritus at the Okmulgee County Jail, recently re-named the “John Alexander Martin Criminal Justice Center.” John earned “Master Bladesmith” rating from American Bladesmith Society and he enjoyed restoring and riding vintage British motorcycles And playing clawhammer banjo.

Those left to cherish his memory include; his wife, Barbara, of 26 years and their two children Duncan and Aidan Martin.

The mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 10th at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 515 S. Morton, Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Floral arrangements can be delivered to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on Monday, July 9, 2018.
