Joe Scott Looney, Okmulgee resident, died peacefully Saturday, December 26, 2015, at the age of 80 years. Joe was born August 10, 1935 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to his parents, Harrison Benjamin and Clara Bell (Steele) Looney. He spent his lifetime in Okmulgee County. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, gardening, and taking care of his yard. Joe was an avid gun collector & shooting enthusiast in his younger years. He also enjoyed singing. He was a member of Clearview Baptist Church. Joe worked at the old meat packing plant in Okmulgee, the coal mines in Dewar,and as a mechanic for the Cleveland Oil & Gas Company. He is preceded in death by his parents; numerous brothers & sisters; daughter, Joy Frey; stepson, David Gordon; granddaughter, Amanda LeAnn Isaacs; ex-wife, Donnie Stidman. Joe leaves many loving memories with his family, wife, Rebecca; daughters, Pamela McConklin, JoDonna Brown, Bonnie Isaacs; brother, Tommy Looney and wife, Amy; many grandchildren & several great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2016 at Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service, Okmulgee, OK. Burial will follow at Salt Creek Cemetery in Wilson. Pastor Randy Matthews will be officiating. Visitation will be Sunday January 3, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service.
