Joe L. Garrett

Joe Larue Garrett passed away June 14, 2015 in Tulsa. He was born June 14, 1959 in Hobart, Oklahoma. Joe graduated from high school in the Hobart Class of 1977. He was very proud of the career he pursued as a certified nurse's assistant. Joe worked at various healthcare institutions including the Veteran's Administration, St. John's, Hillcrest, and Laureate where he met his wife. He married Chenita on January 15, 2011 at Real Church in Tulsa.

Joe was preceded in death by his father Louis "Tex" Morris. He is survived by his wife Chenita Scott-Garrett; his mother Doris Garrett Morris; his children Joe L. Garrett, Melody Timmons, Monique Garrett, JoRita Timmons, Shanita Scallion, Exavia & Octavia Timmons, Eric Scallion, Bryanna Black, Tiffany Black, and Joseph Garrett; 26 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; siblings: Johnnie "Duck" Haven and her husband Anthony, Jerreddia Mansfield, Rickey Ganaway, Deanna Morris, Michael Morris and his wife Melinda, Angel Ford, Clyde Nugent, and Dewayne "Pap" Davis; and a host of family, friends, nieces, and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service at Memorial Park, 5757 S. Memorial Drive in Tulsa. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Monday and a funeral ceremony is scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday in the chapel at Schaudt-Teel. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa.
