Jose (Joe) Alvino Salazar age 74 passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015 in Glenpool, Oklahoma.
Joe was born on January 12, 1941 in Placitas, New Mexico to Lucas Salazar and Connie Herrera. He graduated from Ben Loman High School in Ogden, Utah. He enlisted into the United States Army and in 1961 he was honorably discharged. He married the love of his life, Genevive. Joe worked for the federal government as an electrician.
In his spare time he loved being outdoors especially camping, panning and mining for gold, fishing and traveling. What was important to him was his love for his family and most of all he adored his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lucas and Connie and his beloved wife, Genevieve.
Joe is survived by his daughter: Michele C. Salazar, his son in-law Victor Hernandez, sisters: Loyce Bradshaw, Virginia Cuff of Arizona and Maryann Ala of New Mexico, his brother: Walter Salazar of Utah, his granddaughter: Shaylynn Martinez, grandsons: Joseph, Justin and Joshua Hernandez, two great grandsons: Michael and Mathius Martinez along with other family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. til 12:00 noon Friday, April 17, 2015 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Home, 719 East 141st Street, Glenpool, Oklahoma.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2015 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers are: Victor Hernandez, Justin Hernandez, Joshua Hernandez, Michael Martinez and Darrin Bradshaw.
