He began high school in Tulare, but graduated from Keota High School in 1954. Jimmy had two careers in his life; he worked for Texaco, Inc, and also served in the Oklahoma Air National Guard. He worked for Texaco as an Engineer's Assistant starting in 1956, and ending in 1994. He joined the Air National Guard in 1958, serving variously as an Airframe Repairman, Aircraft Loadmaster (Instructor), and Civil Engineer, retiring at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant in 1990. Throughout his life he lived in Oklahoma, New Orleans, LA, and Denver, CO. During service to his country, he traveled the world visiting countries in Asia, SE Asia, the Pacific Islands, South America, and Europe. He somehow found time for school; completing a TV & Radio Repair course at Tulsa Technical College (1954-1956), and earning a Bachelor's degree in Economics with minors in Business and Sociology, from Northeastern State University at Tahlequah, OK (1967-1971). Jimmy met his wife, Regena Anderson in 1977, and married in 1979. He raised her son Marty as his own. He was preceded in death by his brothers Jess C. and Armon M. Forrester, and his sister Leta Fay Butler. Jimmy left us with this quote: 'I met and accepted Jesus as my savior Easter Sunday of my senior year. I cannot imagine what my life would have been without the Lord, and all the wonderful Christian friends he put me with throughout my life. My life has been fully blessed, and I would change very little if I had to do it over.' In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his memory to the Will Rogers Methodist Church's Education Department, 1138 South Yale, Tulsa, OK 74112. A memorial of his life will be held Tuesday, July 17 at 2 pm for family and close friends, also at Will Rogers Methodist Church.
