Jimmie Wilson

Jimmie Arthur Wilson age 79 loving father and grandfather passed to his eternal home Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jimmie was born January 7, 1933 in Anderson, Missouri to Willie Arthur Wilson and Geneva Nile (Guinn) Wilson. He served in the United States Marine Corps from February 23, 1951 until February 24, 1954. Jimmie was honorably discharged and received a Purple Heart and other awards. Jimmie married Shirley Ann Smith on May 21, 1954 in Mesa, Arizona. Over the years Jimmie worked as a manager in the grocery store business in Anchorage Alaska, Arizona and Oklahoma. He worked for Safeway Food Stores as a manager. Jimmie had his brokerage license and sold real estate. He also worked as a postman and before retiring, he did census work. Jimmie's main interest were spending time with his family and working. He enjoyed walking, gardening and coin collecting. Jimmie would often tell stories of his childhood growing up on the farm. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Geneva Wilson, his brothers Deral Wilson and Willie Wilson and his loving wife, Shirley Ann who passed away October 1, 2009. They were married fifty-five years. He is survived by his children:, Tamara Leigh Hollander, Cheri Lynn Kent, Steven Randall Wilson, his grandchildren Joshua R. Hollander, Christa A. Hollander Scott, Jessica Smith, William Kent, his great grandchildren , Destiny Kapple, Aden Smith, his sister Della Jackson and her husband, Jim of Edwards, Missouri, his brother Carl Wilson of Anderson, Missouri along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Jimmie will always be remembered as a kind, caring and compassionate man. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Schaudt's Funeral Service Chapel, Glenpool, Oklahoma. Reverend Gary Volz will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C.
