Jimmie Marcus Mckay

A graveside service to honor the life of Jimmie Marcus McKay, Jr. will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at the Okmulgee Cemetery in Okmulgee, Oklahoma with pastor Jonathan Hanshaw officiating.

Jimmie Marcus McKay, Jr. born to parents, Jimmie and Eva McKay on September 20, 1951, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He passed away on May 5, 2020, at his home in Okmulgee.

After completion of high school, Jim furthered his education at North Eastern State University where he earned a bachelor’s in business. Jim was in Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity and following college he served as a drill sergeant in the United States Army. Later in life, he moved to Charleston, South Carolina where he was a big crane operator. During his time in Walterboro, Jim also opened a paint and wallpaper business that he ran for several years in Walterboro, South Carolina. During Jim’s life, he always loved hunting and fishing. Most of all, he loved his dog and orange truck. He raised many dogs over the years. He also enjoyed having crab and oyster boils. The best way to describe Jim was “He was a simple man with simple taste.”

Jim is preceded in death by father, Jimmie Marcus McKay Sr.

Jimmie leaves many loving memories with his mother, Eva McKay; daughter, Emily Rickenbaker and husband Justin Rickenbaker and grandson Levi of Yamassee, South Carolina. A sister, Carolyn Wallace of Tulsa, Oklahoma, nephew Richard Wallace with children Gavin and Alec and his wife Syndie. A niece Cynde Payton sons, Braden Emerson and Jett Payton, as well as great nephews Tyson and Luke Emerson and many other loving relatives and a host of friends. Jimmie will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
