Jim Bob Reed, Sr.

Jim Bob Reed, Sr., Okmulgee resident, died at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at the age of 80 years.

He was born December 12, 1935 in Pampa, TX to his parents, Samuel O. and Etta Pearl (Rideout) Reed. Jim attended and graduated from Twin Hills Schools and later attended Rose State College in Midwest City, OK.

Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and reading his Bible as well as spending time with family and friends. He attended First Christian Church in Morris. He worked as Supervisor for the City of Morris in the Public Works Department.

Jim married the love of his life, Rosemary Daniels on August 24, 1962 in Okmulgee, OK.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leon, John, Terry and Vallis Reed. They have celebrated over 52 years of marriage.

Jim leaves many loving memories with his family, wife, Rosemary, of the home; daughter, Pearl White and husband Kevin, of Sapulpa; son, Jim B. Reed, Jr., of Okmulgee; 5 grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, John, Gracie, and Chrystal; sisters, Carolyn McCullar, of Henryetta, Patsy Poindexter, of Preston, Gyla Brumfield, of Okmulgee, and Donna Swallow, of Okmulgee; brothers, Oliver Reed of Okmulgee, and Mike Reed of Henryetta; as well as many other loving family members.

Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 30, 2016 at the Schaudt’s Okmulgee Funeral Service, 220 South Alabama. Burial will follow the service at Okmulgee Cemetery.
