Jill Nichols

Jill Ann Nichols of Henryetta, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the age of 76. Jill was born on February 29, 1948, in Stoughton, Wisconsin, to her loving parents, Melvin and Evelyn (Anderson) Martinson.

Jill grew up on a small farm near Stoughton, Wisconsin, where she developed a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. She met the love of her life, Richard Nichols, and the two were married on October 5, 1968 at the First Lutheran Church in Stoughton, Wisconsin. Together, they continued their shared passion for rural living, moving to a small farm in Whitewater, Wisconsin, where they built a life filled with love and hard work.

Throughout her life, Jill embraced a strong work ethic and a dedication to her community. She worked in manufacturing and retail, owned a restaurant, and was a devoted waitress, a role in which she made countless friendships over the years. Jill's kindness, warmth, and tireless spirit touched everyone she met.

Jill is survived by her beloved daughter, Julia Nichols, and Julia's wife, Sandra Jones; her sister, Peggy Martinson; and her two brothers, Dennis Martinson and wife Diane, and James Martinson and wife Carol. She also leaves behind many cherished relatives and dear friends who will carry forward her memory and the lessons she shared.

Jill was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Nichols; her parents, Melvin and Evelyn Martinson; and her older sister, Barbara Martinson, who passed on November 16, 2022. Her legacy of resilience, love, and determination remains a guiding light for her family.
