Jerry Ray Morris, a resident of Okemah, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the age of 64. He was born on Friday, March 1, 1946 to Samuel and Flossie (Pruitt) Morris in Ravia, Oklahoma. Jerry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On May 7, 1971, he married the love of his life Janice Kay Stacy in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Janice Morris of the home; two daughters, Christy Mosley and husband, Calvin of Okemah and Melanie Green and husband, Keith of Henryetta; one son, Matt Morris and wife, Christine of Okemah; sisters, Kathy Huskey of Okmulgee; Mary Hodges of Okemah and Ann Kenneda of Okemah; three brothers, Harold, Bill and Cleve Henderson all of Bakersfield, CA; six grandchildren, Brayden Morris, Abbigale Green, Ashlyn Green, Madison Morris, Caylee Mosely and Samuel Morris. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah with Reverend Larry Stacy officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Highland Cemetery in Okemah under the direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Pallbearers will be Steve Riddle, Jerry Bogle, Richard Huskey, Gurney Hodges,Brian Walls and Bill Kenneda. Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army. Visitation will be held Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah.
