Jerry Dennis Smith

November 25, 1947 — April 18, 2018

Jerry Dennis Smith passed away April 18, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family. He was 70.

Jerry, or Dennis as many knew him, was born November 25, 1947 in Conway, Arkansas to Frances (Walden) Davis and Layne Ardth Smith.

During his childhood, the Smith family moved from Arkansas to Texas and then to Oklahoma . In 1965, Jerry graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

On April 8th, 1989 he married the love of his life, Karen Sue (Felton) Smith in Wagoner, Oklahoma. The happy couple started their life together in Kansas and eventually moved to Oklahoma in 2002 to be closer to family.

Before moving, Dennis owned and operated Southeast Kansas Vending Company. In 1999 he sold the business to his sister, Donna. He then started his new adventure in building cabinets for hospitals and loved every minute of it.

Dennis's passion was golf. He loved to be out on the course playing any chance he got. From his career he learned to love woodworking and would build things at home for his family and friends. Dennis was a private person with an easy going personality and every so often would be a practical joker.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frances (Walden) Davis and Layne Ardth Smith and a sister, Barbara Foltz.

Survivors include his loving wife, Karen Sue (Felton) Smith; two daughters, Debbie Free and her husband, Billy and Kim Smith; four grandchildren, Emily, Ryan, Doug and Chris; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Randy Smith and his wife, Donna; and one sister, Donna Murray and her husband, Marlin.

Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service and Cremation Care. Family and friends may send memories and condolences to the family, online at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com.
